COOKEVILLE: The board of directors of CityScape recently presented Jim Shipley with the organizations first “Lifetime Achievement” award at Shipley’s retirement party on May 6. The award was conceived to recognize individuals who have played a pivotal role in the CityScape mission of the revitalization of Cookeville’s downtown area.

“On behalf of CityScape, we couldn’t think of a better way to pay tribute to Jim Shipley for his commitment and support of CityScape” quotes Larry Thomas, CityScape Board Chairman. ‘Since the inception of CityScape twenty years ago, Mr. Shipley has been a pillar of encouragement through the City Manager’s office and offered the support of his entire staff,” adds Thomas.

CityScape is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to revitalizing downtown Cookeville through economic restructuring and historic preservation. In addition, CityScape has helped Cookeville to become one of Tennessee’s 28 certified Tennessee Main Street Communities.

COOKEVILLE, TN – CityScape is proud to partner with Michael Rezi and Nissan of Cookeville to be a Founder Partner of their organization.  Through the Patron program, CityScape remains dedicated to revitalizing downtown Cookeville through economic restructuring and historic preservation.  Through these partnerships, CityScape has continued to grant the façade and awning program within our downtown footprint.  With the help of their many donors and volunteers over the years, CityScape has helped Cookeville to become a certified Tennessee Main Street Community, a tremendous accomplishment for our city.

“When I moved to Cookeville as the owner of Nissan of Cookeville, my goal was to choose a small town that takes great pride in their city.  I am originally from Italy, where the culture is all about historical preservation of their cities. When I walk downtown Cookeville, I can see the influence of CityScape in the way they have kept the buildings occupied and retained the historic preservation of the buildings”  quotes Michael Rezi.  “It is evident that Cookeville is a town that cares about their downtown and I can feel their sense of pride and commitment to our city. I am extremely honored and proud to be a Founder Partner of Cityscape, and my commitment to Cookeville has just started.”

CityScape is a non profit organization that is located at 345 S. Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville, TN.
